Be interesting to see how the Yanks feel after their holiday.
So I am reclining last night reading the latest issue of New Scientist when I come across an article referring to Indian rationalist Sanal Edamaruku. Edamaruku is a sort of Indian James Randi in that he looks at claims made by superstitious idiots and then promptly points out that they are superstitious idiots….my kinda guy……
From Information is Beautiful They have some excellent stuff on their website.
Found this on the google box. Looks like he is cleaning/power cleaning about 90kg – not bad for a bloke with one leg. So how is the sooking about being too tired to work out going…..
Today’s contribution comes from Scott Lowther our system tester/designer extraordinaire….. I did something the other day that I have not done in a long time, I succumbed and read one of those main stream media articles on investing, and how dollar cost averaging pays off. Since completing the Mentor program in 2007, I normally…
I have been a fan of the Khan Academy since I first encountered it – it seems to me that digital delivery of education has a different agenda to traditional education. Digital is about teaching – traditional is about credentials and the provision of degrees.

Sias, University of Arizona and Harry J. Turtle, Washington State University. The authors examined…
Maybe….maybe not. Its probably more akin to pick pocketing with baseball bat – supposedly subtle and frictionless but actual a source of violence. More here
Just to widen everyone’s gaze. To steal from Mark Twain….reports of the death of trends have been greatly exaggerated.
Note to audience – this video contains smart people doing smart things. Do not watch if you have a passion for reality tv, womens magazines or if you have a child with a bogan name such as Alivia, Alixzander, Amarly, Antwonet, Ararahbella or Sierra-Leonie.
Brilliant piece by Matt Taibbi of Rolling Stone – I have said it before and I will say it again – Taibbi is the best finance journalist going around today. All the rest seemed to be boring hacks who try and conjure up some postdictive bullshit as to why something happened as opposed to looking…
