Chris that was very satisfying for my pathetic little ego. I test drove 5 “hot hatches” and the VW Golf was such a stand-out car that I wondered how there could be such a huge gap in such a small car market based on sheer performance alone. The VW was so superior, so I was delighted to see it come 2nd in such an incredible list of thoroughbreds. Thanks for sharing your love of automobiles.

I have to admit I have a soft spot for hot hatches having owned all the iterations of the new Mini and found it to be a riot to drive. What stuns me about them is that you can now get performance out of them that even a decade ago would have been confined to supercars.
