Trading Game Data

Within the world of trading traders have very few raw materials but the most important of these is their data. Traders see the outside world through their raw data and it is upon this information that they make decisions that will either make or lose them money.

Data that is neither clean nor accurate is worse than useless because you will be making your trading decisions on signals that may not exist in the real world.

To get a sense of how poor data can affect trading decisions consider the uncorrected chart of AML to the right. This chart shows what can happen when a stock adjustment is badly handled.

Notice how there appears to be gap down on 8/9/2004. However this is a false gap that has been caused by this data not being adjusted correctly. On this day AML spun out another company ALM and had a subsequent capital reduction. As a consequence of this all trading data prior to this date had to be adjusted down.

The corrected chart shows how AML should have looked on that day - notice that the gap down is actually a gap up.

If you had made a trading decision based upon the incorrectly adjusted data your decision would have been based on data that was exactly the opposite of what was truly occurring in the real market.

To make certain your data never has these types of errors in it Trading Game Data is designed and maintained by market professionals who understand the paramount importance data plays in the lives of traders.

Acknowledged as the best domestic data source and one of the world's premier sources for US equities, Futures and Foreign Exchange data Trading Game data is chosen by professional and part time trader's because it has been designed by traders for traders. This unique approach has lead to the design of clean maintenance free data that suits the needs of a variety of users.

Our data is in MetaStocktm format - which is the worlds default data standard. As such the data can be read by the following programs.

MetaStock ™ (ver. 6.52 and above).  Advanced GET (MSFL option)  Omnitrader (ver. 4 and above)  SuperCharts  AmiBroker  Market Analyst  Wealth-Lab Developer  FChartsSE & FChartsPro  TradeStation 2000i

Each day the database undergoes a regular cycle of maintenance which includes.
  1. Prices are adjusted for changes to a company's capital base (such as stock splits, bonus issues, consolidations and rights issues).
  2. De-listed securities are moved from the main database into a "De-listed Securities" folder.
  3. Securities that have undergone a name or code change are refreshed to reflect the new name or code.
  4. New securities that have been added to the database are assigned their full names.
  5. Custom Folders are updated.

This means that traders can have confidence in the signals their charting program is generating on a daily basis.
